need info on the Kurosio No.55 non level wind reel made in Japan pat.pend.

neat-looking reel.
Olympic/Seiko usually gets the "blame" for most Japanese reels.
I don't know how easy it would be to research it - Japanese doesn't google well.
I have two contacts in Japan, maybe one of them might have an idea.

this reel was purchased at the NFLCC Nationals in 1996

My friend from Japan replied.
The name is Kuroshio, and it's named for the Kuroshio Current.
A surfcasting/ light salt reel made in the 60s.

Len, the photos are gone now, but I'd guess levers are free spool and anti-reverse.
