Pflueger Rocket with Blue Knobs

Post by scottorock »

I sold mine (this one) a few years ago. I haven't seen another since. Anyone know the story behind the blue knobs? Im assuming its a later version with limited production numbers as they weened them out.

New one to me, but I'll try to check it out in a few catalogs. Later.

That's a first for me, too. Looks pretty cool, actually. The box is a late one, which might be a clue.

Yeah, the more I look at it the more I wish I had kept it. I know who has it, atleast. Oh, well...I have some nice pictures of it!

Checked some catalogs. 1965, 1966 were in color. Those years the blue striped box was used. Rockets were shown with red knobs. No catalog I checked mentioned blue knobs. Can't figure it unless a few experimental blue knobs were laying around and the Pfluegers were known for wasting nothing. Obviously very scarce.

Best I could do. Cheers! Bad Bob

Dam! Now I really wish I kept it! Its a click or two shy of MIB. I might send the buyer an email. EH, probably won't. Anyways, thanks for the digging, Bob. I truly appreciate it. Ive held other "blue knobs", but they were too far gone and I didn't pull the trigger.
