Can anyone furnish me some information on this neat old reel? I just got it and it is not really worth
doing anything with as it is basically in pieces. Am I correct in assuming that it might have been something worth having if it had been in better condition? Thanks.

Neat old reel. I always liked them. There were several Shakespeare models made prior to 1910 (and this is one of them if it doesn't have the 1910 date under the foot). They make a nice collection in themselves, especially if you get all the sizes.

Thanks for the info. The reel is pretty well shot. I never met up with one before,
so I thought that it might be a decent one to have if I ever found one in good condition.
