I have several of these, and am wondering how to date them. Number on foot. 4H523,
and also on body, and one with different nos. and body 2S235 on foot, and 3V295 on body. Perhaps from replacement? Also one with different shade of blue on body and a cream colored cup. A different maker? That one does look newer.
Thanx for any help!!!!

Re: Alcedo micron
Photos would be nice as there are numerous minor changes to the earlier models, i.e. early '50s- early '60s, that can be telltale signs. Body and sideplate numbers should match so maybe someone switched sideplates. Alcedo color tints varied somewhat from one year or version to another. A cream rotor/cup would be the later Coptes (1975-1982) versions and should have a green body, not blue. The main ways to date are handles & knobs, drag knob, medallion design & attachment, leg bend or curve and color. They can get very complicated, especially since many parts are interchangeable and many have been changed.
Love those Open Face Spinning Reels! (Especially ABU & ABU/Zebco)
