I know that Crook made a few fly rods, but later, other companies provided them to him.
A friend of mine has a J.B. Crook marked reel and seems to think that perhaps it was manufactured
by Crook. If I had to guess, I would say no, but I'm only guessing.

Did you switch "rod" for "reel", Tom?? J.B. made lots of reels...here is one:

Nope, I knew that Crook made a few fly rods, but wasn't sure about the reels.
At one point Montague was providing the rods, so I guessed that that might be the same
scenario.
I will have to tell my friend that he is right. I do that a lot these days.
