Neat reel besides the obvious fault. Havent broken down or attempted to restore yet. Trying to ID. Hard rubber cap and tail, German Silver hardware, HR knob on counter balanced "S" crank, turn- not slide- function knob to initiate click, 4 stamped in foot. Shouldered pillars. Lots of knurling. John directed me to a very similar reel in an article Steve wrote. Any info always appreciated. Kopf or a Copy?

Scott,
That looks like an Imbrie Black Bass Reel--very nice reel. It was sold by A&I, but I don't know who made it. If I recollect there were three or four iterations of that reel over the years, and they may have had different manufacturers. I think the earliest version of the reel was made by Malleson.

Dead ringer for the No.486 "The Imbrie", seen in the 1890 Abbey & Imbrie catalog. Curious to know who the maker was, too.
