Here's some more pics of that big reel I picked up last week. I got anxious and tried wiping the bottom of the foot with vin/water hoping for NS. All I got was what looks like copper, but must be brass, right? Here's a few more pics- I even opened it up to show you the gearing. Any idea as to maker and anyone interested? Needs endcaps and a few screws- project reel for someone that would know what they're doing?
It was mentioned this might be a leftie? Is that because the handle shaft is closest to the user when on the left side?
I tried searching the net and all I found were some saloons and charter boats in NJ! Thanks in advance. Best--- JoeW (ORCA)

pretty sure that's an Ocean City reel, maybe little brother to the nickel-silver Fortescue?
there's a New Jersey on this page - No. 122 - looks like it was originally painted

Thanks Ron! Wow- lightning fast reply! It sure does match the pics of Fortesque's I found now. Maybe an OC "trade reel"? Mystery solved- looks like I've got a wall-hanger. Thanks again, all who replied. Best--- JoeW

To me, it looked reversed in your first group photo, unlike this photo, which is why I mentioned it being a "lefty".

LOL! My bad, Mark. In the group photo I had the reel sitting up on the rim with the reel seat on the left! You couldn't tell from the pic. That threw the arrangement of handle, buttons, lever, etc all off. Sorry for the confusion. Best--- JoeW
