I'm a "Happy Camper" today!

Post by Bill Sonnett »

Yesterday I received a package that contained a reel box that I didn't think I would ever find. It is the maroon "chimney style" Supreme box from 1924. It will go along just fine with my reel pictured here, a 1924 model Pflueger Supreme with the square line guide.

I love to get old reels, work on them until they run as smooth as silk and the take them fishing using pre-1960 plugs, mostly surface fishing for Largemouths after dark.

Great box Bill! That looks like one that I NEED for my collection. Since you've always sold or traded things to me that I really needed for my collection I sure hope that practice continues with this box!!

Your Pal Warren.

Warren would just drop the reel and eventually burn the box for a shore lunch, so best keep that one.

Bob that reel came in a leather bag that I was not familiar with, but later I've seen it with the earlier round bodied Supremes. I was thinking that the only thing needed to make it a complete package would be the box papers. Robyn Sayler emailed me that he had an extra copy showing the square line guide and he was sending me one to complete the set. Fellow collectors can be incredibly thoughtful---makes a fellow happy he is in such a hobby.
