Shakespeare Perfect reel Questions

Post by Chad S »

What year was the Perfect reel model first offered? When was the last year offered?

This is where I am a Collector and not a Historian.

Last the picture attached ask what is this called? When did Shakespeare add this to hold the bearing caps on? I notice on the later Perfect reel has them.

Thank You for any help. Chad

1938 through 1941 depending on the Model designation.

My reel is stamped 1910 to my understanding this stamp was used between 1910-1915 correct?

This foot is not the perfect but you can read it better.

The first "Perfect" models were introduced in the 1910 catalog and, according to the "Shakespeare Reel List", the last day of production for the "Perfect" was June 11, 1941.

That would have only been built for a couple years, as the next model "Perfect" was the 1912 Model. If you're just talking about that "style" of oval stamp (with W.S.JR.CO. within), it was changed after the 1915 company name change from Wm. Shakespeare Jr. Co. to the Shakespeare Company.

I had just looked at the listing and I guess I didn't look far enough. That is why I usually don't comment. Not only have CRS but also DKS!!
