I picked this up on Ebay recently and was wondering who made it. It looks like a Pflueger Supreme with its shape and level wind but it has a star drag and strange looking click button. Anybody know who made it?

I thought they were usually marked, Jeff, but Gulf Reel made a reel like that...dead ringer for the Pfl Summit!

no offense John, but doesn't quite look like the Dallas reel - I'd have to guess another, but don't have an answer

Never seen such! I agree with Deke. Probably from the Orient.

I just tripped across another possibility for this one. it is very similar to the "Expert Teardrop" model made by Bronson for Sears...check out under Reels for Sears on the Bronson site:

Just a thought!

BTW- All the reel research site contents are now available inside Orcaonline and text searchable from the ORCA Online Home page. Any new content since the last month or two can only be found inside the ORCA Online versions. The weebly site addresses are still functional but are going to be redirected here in the near future.

Similar in shape to a Bronson, but that's about it. None of the components are Bronson.john elder wrote:I just tripped across another possibility for this one. it is very similar to the "Expert Teardrop" model made by Bronson for Sears...check out under Reels for Sears on the Bronson site:
