I had no idea that level wind design existed back this far, stated date for this reel is the 1860's era. Are there any examples of level wind reels earlier than this.

See Reel News, January, 2003, pg. 17. The Fasoldt is two decades younger.I had no idea that level wind design existed back this far, stated date for this reel is the 1860's era. Are there any examples of level wind reels earlier than this.
