Yes, like that but the example I saw seemed a bit younger, with interior screws holding the inner faceplate. So the point is that there were raised check-cover reels without any exterior screws/rivets.

Just a bump for this page after the postings on Antique Fishing Tackle Facebook page.

I have just received some new paper work and hopefully will shed some light.

My own opinion and it is just that, is that a wooden handle is USA bone or ivory English.

Jim, have you ever checked the Clerks inside? Some Clerk single-actions were marked by Guthrie. If nothing else, these marks are evidence of U.S. manufacture.

In my limited experience with these things, German silver models often have ivory grasps, and brass models, wood.

Yes, and at least these three examples are unmarked beneath the raised cap.
