With an East European heritage, our family celebrates the Christmas Eve vigil with a version of the feast a seven fishes- herring, fried smelt, smoked trout, smoked salmon, oysters, fried shrimp, and lobster bisque. That menu makes the non-meat fast which ends at midnight mass pretty easy.

Merry Christmas and Happy Hanukkah to all of you.

PS that is some great Christmas card photography above. Wow.

Hey Mike.

My mom was Italian and we did the same, but different assortment. I don't eat fish, but oddly enough always looked forward to the smelts ...as long as there was plenty of tartar sauce around.

Merry Christmas to all and to all a Good Night! Maybe in 2018 I can get a handle on things? And before Santa Elder says it, "That's a Hoosier handle!!

Merry Christmas and Happy Festivus to the rest of us.

We have somehow converged to an Italian tradition for Christmas Eve, so Lasagna is on the menu for tonight. Christmas day will be the traditional Ham and Goose fare, with all the trimmings.

I hope all your reel dreams come true.
