Dean is absolutely correct to the extent that an item’s retail price in a store setting is really the MSRP (manufacturer’s suggested retail price) so that it only occurs at point of first sale of an item.
In the secondary market which we deal in regarding the sale of vintage reels, “price point” is probably a more accurate term to use. Black’s Law Dictionary defines the term price point as,
“The retail price of a good that is determined based on its competitiveness to the prices of similar products. The price however is not fixed and changes depending on the levels of demand for the product and the existing competition” (ie, supply of similar reels also being offered).
Are reels now at Retail prices?
