Interesting. I had assumed it was a post-war boon model as there are so many of them floating around for peanuts. Gives me a new appreciation for them.

ORCANS,

The Eminent Nurse Ratchet is right on the money as far as the year the Trump began production, first use claimed for Enterprise's US Trademark is July 5, 1932. However, the trademark was renewed twice, giving Enterprise trademark protection until late in 1972, don't know if they used it.

Who has the Trump trademark today, I wonder!!!

I also question the production end date of 1942 because in addition to seeing so many Trumps, I also see them in excellent + condition much much more frequently. I suggest that they must have produced much later.

The No.1943 Trump was still offered in Pflueger catalogs as late as 1966 and possibly much later. The "Pflueger Reel List" shows production ended in 1980, but I've found that list to be inaccurate at times.

I plead innocence! I just reported what I found. "Hear no evil, see no evil, speak no evil". Like everything else, I don't really know enough to have an opinion. I don't really claim to know anything.

There's a whole chapter on the Trump in Bob Miller's new book on the rest of the Pflueger Baitcasters.
