New Library acquisition - Farlow & Co., 1910

Post by sdlehr »

Just letting everyone know that we have acquired an electronic copy of the 1910 Farlow & Co (England) Catalog/price list (the binding says its a "price list", but it's scanned from their 200-plus page catalog containing what I assume is all the pages showing reels). It has pages 35-50 complete (2 catalog pages per page), and a few other pages showing reels. There are Nottingham winches, brass winches, wooden and brass fly reels, and even what looks to me like an early cradle reel, "Farlow's New Patent Tarpon Reel". (I find it interesting that in 1910 the Brits made a Tarpon reel for what must have been Florida fishing at the time, no Tarpon has ever blessed the waters of the British Isles as far as I know). The entire file is 13 pages. I've included an image of the cover page here. It is not a high-quality scan, but it's all we've got for now.
