Sad News...Jim Wiegner has passed

Post by john elder »

Just got an email from Jim's wife, Chris and she asked me to let the Club know about Jim's passing on tuesday afternoon. Always busy, Jim was trimming trees in the back and died of an apparent heart attack. What a great friend and colleague...he will be missed.

I'm sure Chris would appreciate a card from you if you so choose. His address is in the directory, but if you need it, let me know

Sorry to hear. That is why pictures in the directory would be nice. Too many would want to fly under the radar though. Don't recall ever meeting him? If he was a member, he was one of the Good Guys.

Godspeed to him and his family. Just another reminder we are all on borrowed time here on God’s earth and may as well live life to its fullest, and laugh and love, and collect a few neat reels along the way.

I am very sorry to hear this sad news. Jim Wiegner and I spoke briefly during June 2017 when I was making some phone calls to ORCA members. He was very nice on the phone and seemed to enjoy the conversation. Regarding ORCA meetings, he only attended the Fife show in 2004. He liked living in the PNW and had many ORCA friends in the region. He went to local lure shows a few times per year but his interest was in reels. RIP Jim.

Just a truly nice person. We chatted often. He even kept me posted on Mt. St. Helen activity. So sorry to hear this news.

ORCAN'S,

Strange, but I was thinking of Wiggy just yesterday....maybe now I know why. Truly great guy, we talked often a few years back, since Jim was just an old California Bay Area hippie at heart.

Family man through & through. Gonna miss him.

Met Jim at the 2004 ORCA National in Fife, WA. He was a great guy to talk with and one of the nicest people I know. We'd chat once in a while and always had a real nice time. Talked about everything from reels to his career at the airlines. He left me with some great memories of a man with such a gentle soul.
