Anyone recognize these gear sets ?
Re: Anyone recognize these gear sets ?
I don't know, but the used pressure plate in the upper left should be diagnostic. My guess is they are upgrade kits for higher speed. Compare the old set on the right to the three new sets. The smaller pinion diameter means more speed. The main gear looks like 70 teeth if I can count from the photo. Pinion is 14 teeth? 16 teeth? Can't tell. Getting the gear ratio will help you narrow down the possibilities. If the pinion happens to be 11 or 12 teeth, I would be interested in buying a set.

Nothing that I have ever seen. The gears on the back side seem too straight for any type of A/R. The pinion & spacer don't seem to fit the standard spinning design, either. It looks to me like those parts should all fit together on a horizontal shaft.

If you have access to some you might want to compare or see if they will fit some of the ABU Garcia casters like 5000, 6000, 6500, etc., or similar reels. I have a feeling that's what they are for.

Re: Anyone recognize these gear sets ?
I thought that "spinny" thing was from an ABU 5000 at first. They have a pressure plate that is very similar but they are cut differently. The hollowed out main gear makes me think it is conventional.

Bingo! Perhaps that “spider” type gear is part O in the diagram shown in Steve’s link?
