Hawks & Ogilvy Reel Info

Post by GJC »

Have a H&O that I did some research on and can not find any info or history on this handle configuration all I can find are the ball handle reels. Any info would be welcomed

That looks like an early Vom Hofe made trade reel to me.

H&O was in business from 1871 or so to 1895 or so. The firm sold trade reels made elsewhere. A lot of their earlier reels were ball-handles.

Thanks Steve, from some of the photos seen in Antique Fishing Reels it appears certain that the handle is John Kopf.
