Anyone familiar with the Zebco 6000 series? I had a 6010 about 30 years or so ago. It was a great little reel and seemed to be built like a tank. I sold it in a weak moment and have regretted it. I found one on the bay that was NOS in the box and never used, so I bid on it and won. This should be a great river smallmouth reel.

Re: Zebco 6000 Series Spinning Reels
They were made in Japan by Sugita/Ryobi & sold from about 1980 - 84. A blueish gray Sterling 7000 series was basically the same reel and came out a little later. There were 6 - 6000 models, 6000, 6010, 6020, 6040, 6050 & 6070. Same last two numbers for the 7000 series but there were also a couple of rear drag Sterling models, a 7015 & a 7055 both made in the USA, and a 7025 made in Japan. Zebco did a lot of model shuffling shortly after the ABU Cardinal split. They also had similar 4000 & 5000 series' during that time period.
Love those Open Face Spinning Reels! (Especially ABU & ABU/Zebco)
