Top Five Reel Christmas List...

Post by mortepa »

Alright, this should be fun! What are the top five reels that you would want for your collection this Christmas. Doesn't need to necessarily be the most valuable or rare. More like those holes in your collection that you really crave to fill, that for one reason or another you just have missed out on.

Here are mine:

#2. Pflueger Raised pillar Summit (NLW, any size)
#3. Pflueger Faultless (any size)
#4. Pflueger Hawkeye 40 yd
#5. Pflueger Norka 40 yd (NLW)

Notable mentions:
Pflueger Kentucky
Pflueger Avalon
Pflueger Buckeye 40 yd or 100 yd

Christmas ...

Yup, I've never seen any of those that I listed above. I have always said that the best reel to find is one that has never been found before.

Here are a few from my "only seen once" file:

1. Aluminum E. vom Hofe Peerless
2. Aluminum E. vom Hofe Perfection, with raised pillars
3. Talbot Ben Hur "Club Special" with revolving handle plate
4. HL Leonard Bi-Metal with a click switch (on eBay, just last week!)
5. Philbrook & Paine marbelized fly reel with a drag knob

My "WISH" List

Post by Harvey »

Any Shakespeare reel that I don't have and is free! :D

But, these would really make me happy!

#1 The Shakespeare Model "C" that Joe Klaus has!
#2 The Shakespeare Model "A" that Dave Erickson has!
#3 The Shakespeare "Pilot" that Randy Pavlack has!
#4 The Shakespeare "Take-a-Part" prototype that Jim Madden has!
#5 The Shakespeare "Hoosier" with the box that Jim Schottham has!

I know, I know, gettin' any of these would be like wishin' for a snow storm in September but it doesn't hurt to wish. I am just glad that these owners of my favorite reels are or were kind enough to let me see them.
Thanks guys,
Harvey

I'll take any of the reels on Dean's Sasquatch list.
But if you guys are looking to put some things under my tree:
1. An Acme skeleton-type fly reel (sometimes called a vom Hofe).
2. A mint, in the box skeleton fly reel marked Abbey & Ambrie
3. a Winchester 1135 or 1136.
4. Any skeleton fly reel by a maker I haven't dug up yet.
5. My CFO IV with an 8-pound brown on the other end.

#5

Post by reelsmith. »

A # 5 Perfection ...wow, wouldn't that be cool ! Have you heard of one?

The smallest Perfection I've ever seen was a #3 1/2... and I've only seen one in 25 years. I know a guy that says he knows of a #4, but I have my doubts.

A #5 Perfection would be an absolute prize! I hope Santa brings it Jack!

"I can dream, can't I?" I know where 4 of the 5 are at the moment, but I've resigned myself to the fact that they're going to stay put. If one comes out of the blue, that would definitely cure these snow belt blues.

1.) Sturgis Anti-back-lash reel
2.) South Bend lefty 1131 (Not model A)
3.) South Bend lefty #550A
4.) South Bend lefty #550B
5.) South Bend #60A

45A, 55A, 100A, 125A, 810A, and 910A will also float my boat!

There are a few reels stuff I still covet:

1. Marhoff Reel Company reel with ALL it's original parts
2. Marhoff Reel Company box (does such a Beastado exist?)
3. South Bend 1131 intro box (Not the sickly yellow box but the original blue/black standup box)
4. A third of the reels I sold on Ebay!
5. Half the reels I sold at ORCA conventions!

PS - My computer at home is still CaaCaaMocha and I haven't been able to access e-mails for almost ten days - so if you DID email me, I still Love Ya, but it may be a few more days till I tell you so! Bottom line, go ahead and send me the above mentioned items, and then tell me about it later!
