Apparently made from brass and copper, this big old reel has some scary exposure of it's gears, for line and fingers! Yet another veteran that probably has an interesting history, if we only knew it! Maybe Bud can add some bits and pieces!

Here is a little info on the reel, there is no drag or free spool. I think that round plate with the holes is just to help cover up the gears but that is just a guess. The gear ratio is just under 2 1/2 to 1. And it’s no ultra lite as it weighs in at just under 5.5 lbs. I picked this reel up yesterday and have no history as to where it came from or used for. I am wondering if something like this is collectible or should be used for a boat anchor.
