Intend to let go of these two and need more than my uneducated guesses as to what they are.
The RP is 2 1/4" outside pillar to pillar x 1 1/16" outside width. Only marking is a 6 on bottom of the foot.
The other 2" dia. x 1 3/16" outside width, no markings at all. All brass with very nice patina.
Thanks for your help, Dave

The RP isn't a Kopf.

I highly doubt that.corbo wrote:I was told it is possibly an Andrew Clerk
The other reel is French and they are sometimes marked "L'elite".
Often value is more a factor of what they are than who made them. Consider the Gayle "Simplicity" reel, a very modest reel with a very famous name on it.
At the risk of sounding cliche (and ruffling feathers) ...they are what they are. Knowing the maker would be nice, but won't change what they are.
I'd price them based on what reels of like quality of materials and construction sell for.

Ditto. I'm not aware of any evidence that any of the several Clerk companies made reels. Those little brass, riveted reels were sold everywhere, and without distinguishing features like a patented foot, it's nearly impossible to ID the maker. For all we know, it's an Edwin Judge.I highly doubt that.
