LOGO

Post by Don Champion »

I have a Winchester 2342 in really nice shape, but unmarked except for a logo of a "C" in a triangle with the flat at the top. I thought at first it may be Cortlands but that was a dead end. Anyone have any ideas whose logo this is?

Winchester 2342

If your reel is not stamped "Winchester 2342" it is probably not a Winchester made reel. If it was a Winchester generic it would be stamped with Armax, Hendrix, Barney & Berry, etc, and would have the appropriate number for that line. Since your reel has no markings, other than the "C", I would assume it was made or assembled by Horrocks-Ibbotson after they purchased the Winchester fishing tackle division in 1931. I am not familiar with the C logo, however, so I have no idea who or what that stands for.
