My friend's husband passed away recently. She was left with several fishing reels that she wants to dispose of. They are all in excellent condition and have no rust. Two are in the original boxes with the original paperwork. The models are:
Penn #160
Penn Peerless #9
Penn Surfmaster #250
Can you give me any idea of the value or if they are of interest to a collector? If they are collectables, where would be the best place to sell them for the best price? Thank you. Marilyn

Marylyn: If they are in the earlier boxes. greenish-brown (that's a color?), with a picture of a fisherman and lighthouse on the end label, these are nicer packages and would certainly go well on ebay...meaning $40-80 if ex with paperwork. If they are in blue and white striped boxes (newer), won't do as well. Stupid as it seems, the boxes are more collectable than these particular reels! All three could still go fishing, but if in the older boxes, would certainly be better to keep them ex. Hope this helps!

Thank you for the quick reply! They are in the older greenish-brown box. They also have some small metal flat "wrench like" tool and a tube of something in the box. Marilyn
