As a former Contract Route Driver for the Postal Service, I can tell you that some processing centers will let "non-profit" mail sit on the dock for a week or two before doing anything with it. The same is done with 3rd Class (standard) Mail that isn't "time-sensitive". It sucks, but it happens all the time.

It's nice to see how rare posts like this are compared to the old days! Richard has really gone to lengths to get the RN to us on time over the last few years. I suspect the delay relates to the seasonal delays combined with weather. Wayne, if you don't see anything in the next week, give a heads up and we'll make sure you get it.

The Rubber Reel Lady and I are reading this with a smirk on our faces. It seems Mass. postal service is no better than Idaho's. We ALWAYS mailed the Reel News on time.

Well, it's the termini that are the problems rather than the point of origin. I'm sure Richard got the RN out on time as I'm at the very other tip of the country (Brian excepted) and I have had mine for two weeks! It's a shame to see this reappear....have had such great luck for the past years!

My neighbor was on a cruise the last two weeks had their mail on hold. Guess what when they pick up their mail my reel news was with their two week hold.

John, I explained the problems with the "terminals" on this message board many times. Your statement "It's nice to see how rare posts like this are compared to the old days! I guess Old geezers get sensitive when they're not out fishing.

Sensitive?? You, Phil??? Nah! My comment was to express the opinion that these delays were not caused by either you or Richard! The "Old Days" didn't refer to your tenure as Editor....these problems were happening frequently long after you left the helm (and no, I'm not now banging on Richard!). I'm banking on this being a particular bad patch because of holidays.

Given that only about 10% of our membership ever posts on this site, I wonder how many others out there are having similar delays?? If you are not reading this, be sure and let us know.
