"Something Came Up Last Night IN Speedway During The Storms

Post by Jonathan P. Kring »

Evergreen in front yard planted over 30 years ago. No damage except to tree and yard. Will give me something to do in my spare time!

Tough Jonathan. But just get a neighbor to hold it steady while you re-plant it. Better than having to wait another 30 years.

Is that frost on the ends of the branches? In July, or is that an older picture?

Oh my, Jon. You're lucky it fell parallel to the house, but losing a tree like that sure makes you sick to your stomach. :(

Not frost. I was taking the pics. about 5am while still dark and the flash lit it up like that. Tom: The part that makes me sick is after working on it for about 5 hours myself, what I am paying the guy to remove the rest of it.(Stump not included)

Be careful, Jon, that's a young man's game, especially when it's hot and humid!

Wow! Glad you're OK. That could have caused some damage if it went a different direction.

My old stomping grounds, Ohio and Indiana, is getting some nasty weather this year!

In honor of those who in service to our country have fallen like trees in the storm and in preparation for the upcoming "Brickyard 400".

Stumps and roots of large evergreens are a great source of "fatwood," resin-rich pine which we cut up into small pieces and use a fire-starters in the fireplace.

Glad no one was hurt.
