Thanks, Yogi, for all the smiles you brought to our faces every time we thought of our favorite "Yogi-ism". RIP, friend

I don't know if I had a favorite, since I liked them all, but I suppose I use this one more than most:

"It's like deja vu all over again"

My favorite (and appropriate):

"I always go to friends' funerals because if you don't go to theirs they won't come to yours."

Bet a lot will be there.

Yogi Berra, 1950. Hit .322, with 28 HR and 124RBI. 656 at bats, with 12 strikeouts. TWELVE strikeouts? Are you kidding me?

Here's a great photo from 1956 of Yogi Berra and Mickey Mantle, both RIP, posing with their catch of the day. I've never seen a handle grasp quite like that on a Penn reel before, if indeed that's what it is.

I watched Don Larson's perfect game on T.V. I can still see Yogi climbing all over him.
Loved the old Yanks and still love the new ones, though not as much.

They look like Ocean City reels but it's a great picture.

From a post on today's New York Times site:
The world will sorely miss Yogi, the last native speaker of Stengeleze. On NPR this morning, they reported that some time ago, his wife asked him where he wanted to be buried and he replied: "Surprise me."
R.I.P., Yogi.
