Over the last few years I have become very intested in vintage carved wood fish plaques. I love real taxidermy but the older, rustic stuff is often than too dried out and fragile. Some of the wood carvers were real masters and I love looking at a wall full of their work. But it's hard to find detailed vintage mounting boards or frames.
This is a wood trout i bought that was carved about 25 years ago. I made the birch mount and frame with a utility knife, a few pieces of birch firewood which I debarked, some wood glue, several clamps and few birch branches.
Please feel free to post any others you own. Thanks.
