Buckberry Lodge?

Post by Don Champion »

Has anyone heard how Buckberry Lodge is doing amidst the recent fire on Cobblers Knob? I hope they're OK.

It has been reported that the Buck Berry Lodge outside Gatlinburg TN was destroyed by fire last night. They hosted the ORCA annual meeting summer before last.
Co-owner Buddy McClean is an avid fishing enthusiast and collector and each cabin was a micro fishing tackle museum!
My prayers go out to the many folks that suffered loss in this tragedy (which isn't over yet.

Thanks Joe for your support.

Got a spare reel stamped "Pflueger" or a Montague Imperial?

While searching, I found this nice article from less stressful times:

I just heard from Henry Caldwell that Buddy McLean talked to Henry and said that Buckberry Lodge has lost 3 of their 4 buildings. How very sad. I know all of us hope they can rebuild. It is a beautiful and unique place.
