Why not? Pretty sure they were introduced because someone thought they were tasty (Not that it was the right thing to do). People in different parts of the world value different fish. And as we well know in collecting reels "one man's trash....." Where I live, people eat bonefish in the very same way, made up as a paste either raw like Native Hawaiians did or fried as a cake like my Asian ancestors. Freshwater eel exports from the Northern states are already big business. If you want to fish something down, market it as "delicious"! Just need to put it in front of the right market.
