I'm reasonably sure most of us have watched Jeremy Wade's show "River Monsters". He uses some good looking reels. I'm not into modern reels so don't know just what he is using, but there are various casting reels, spinners, and SW models, all looking great. How many can you name?

Re: Name those reels!
Come on guys! Surely those of you who collect new models know. I don't, but have seen some quality reels he uses. Only re-runs shown now. He has fished himself out it appears.

Re: Name those reels!
First of all, the guy's British and, like Dame Juliana, didn't use a reel very often.
As for the rare times he used a reel, I haven't a clue.

Originally manufactured in South Africa, they are no longer being made.Policansky Monarch 2020 Fishing Reel Lever Drag 4 : 1 Gear Ratio Monarch Game Fisher- Monarch 2020 Second hand but in pretty good condition. No line on the spool As per picture More info:Gear Ratio 4:1Policansky Monarch 2020 Fishing ReelMonarch 2020Monarch Game Fisher- Monarch 2020The heavyweight in the Policansky family - This lever drag reel can load 400mtr of 0.60mm diameter/16.5kg Monofilament. In it's homeland waters off Cape Point in South Africa, it is the favourite lever drag reel for Tuna. In Northern Europe it's superb for deep fishing over the wrecks and heavy reef work, and in the warm waters of the Indian Ocean, they go for Sailfish, Barracuda and Dorado not to mention the Sharks. Gear Ratio 4:1. Weight 0.76kgAll Policansky reels are made to rigid machining specifications and from the best materials available.Perfectly balanced spools made from one piece of aluminium, Stainless steel crank, Stainless steel drag lever, Stainless steel gear and spool shafts, Manganese bronze helical gears, Minimum clearance between spool and side plates, Spool and side plate rings made of marine anodised aluminium,The Monarch 2000 series incorporates a new drag design with important features:A new friction material is used for bigger drag washers that float between a stainless steel brake plate and an enlarged braking area on the spool flange. The brake plate and pinion gear are assembled as one integral unit enabling precise alignment of the brake plate and spool flange. We have altered the pitch of the feed that moves the brake plate towards the spool so that a bigger range of drag from free spool to full drag is achieved. The combination of these features gives you the smoothest drag ever and one that will catch fish after fish and still retains its silky smooth stopping power.A major feature of the Monarch 2000 series drag is the easy breakaway that is so important for trolling and live bait fishing. No more break-offs when that yellow-fin snatches your lure - the drag will yield to its pre-programmed setting without a shudder. On the two bigger models (2018 and 2020) the whole drag system has been increased in diameter to give the reels more stopping power.Policansky have improved the free run of the spool on the two small 2006 and 2010 models making them even better casting and spinning reels than their predecessors. Finally the reel has been uniquely turned out in a black and gold livery. Distinguishing colours for a distinguished reel that will be used by discriminating fisherman.New Price is $ 240-00 US

Reads like a fine machine. Perhaps on watching a rerun or two maybe some of you will tune into make and model.

Jeez, even I could tell the reel in the video is a Policansky Monarch 2***...but which? (BTW, our intrepid friend Wade was using it to catch a turtle.)
