Photo editing program

Post by Wayne B. »

I used Picasa for years to download the pictures off of my camera and then have them available to do simple things like lighten a pic, crop a pic, etc. Hard drive crashed...lost no files, but lost Picasa. Google eliminated Picasa and only offers "mobile sharing enhanced experiences." I just want to find a simple program that recognizes my camera, lets me download the images, and give me the opportunity make simple visual edits.

Any recommendations for a simple camera download/editing program/site?

I like https://www.irfanview.com/

But try some of these recommended ones:

There's even something from the MS Store: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/p/easy- ... verviewtab

Once you put pics on your hard drive, you can do almost everthing by openeing in “preview” and using the functions in the tool bar. I used to use photoshop for everything but found i need very little more than preview. (Jeeez, I should use it to preview my iPad typing! Sorry! Corrections added)

I guess it's hard to teach an old dog new tricks. I tried some of the suggested alternatives to Picasa and couldn't find one with all the features I wanted, or I didn't know how to find them.

My wife reminded me that Picasa is still on her laptop. Problem solved! At least until her hard drive dies.

Thanks for the input!
