A passing thought for Monday

Posting an avatar is a sign of excessive vanity. A name should be sufficient, especially if the person is notorious-like Steve or Ron Mc or Geeze or Deacon...

Wow, it must be a slow day for the ORCA Bored: An announcement of an avatar change :!:

Brian: The reel's on the floor of the car. It was made by the driver, who also built the car. Here's a pic:

Bob: Here's an avatar you can use as soon as we show you how to install it (no spelling required):

Cool reel, Steve. This appears to be leading to a "Guess the Reel Maker of the Day" contest. And off we gooooooooo! I'll start: I didn't know Henry Ford fished.

Uhhh, yeah, I was really thinking Henry Fonda. You know, like that movie, "A River Runs Through It"? No,... wait a minute, that was Robert REDFord, right?...never mind...NEXT!...Maybe I was thinking "Honda" (Fonda?)

You didn't mention Betty or Kant A. Ford. But they would be wrong, too.

Gosh, Jim, the reel was almost yours. It's C. H. Wisner. Brian was about to buy the reel and send it to you, since he was sponsoring this contest, but I managed to point out the incorrect initial :bash: just as he was bringing PayPal up on his computer. Wisner formed his own wee company to make the reel and some other stuff, including a celluloid minnow trap. But he also built the first auto in Flint, before Buick started the tsunami of automakers and parts suppliers that engulfed the city.

Bummer Jim, sorry you missed out. Gotta watch that Steve-guy, he's a shifty buggah. I think I may have to move this thread now that it's about a reel.

Geeez, I can't even blame hitting the wrong key on the keyboard...and I was soooo close!

So Steve, now that the maker has been correctly ID'd, how about showing everyone the face plate on that cool reel?
