SOME MORE INFO ON THE SHOW ORCA 2015 NATIONAL CONVENTION -

- There will be a FATC show the week prior to our show that will be held in St. Augustine Florida (See FATC web site for more info). ORCA members who are not already FATC members can attend that show on Friday and Saturday for free and then head down to our show later in the week if they so choose.
And don't forget ..... there will be a large contingent of ORCA members in the ORCA section of the FATC Daytona show at the end of February. The Daytona show has been called the best reel show in the country and for good reason!
FATC Web Site:
http://www.fatc.net/Shows.htm

- The IGFA Hall of Fame & Museum is located in Dania Florida just minutes away from Ft. Lauderdale and Miami/ Miami Beach. The fabulous Florida Keys start in Key Largo which is a 2 hour drive from the IGFA and it takes about 2 1/2 hours to work your way down to Key West, a very worthwhile side trip for those who have some time to spend in the Sunshine State.

- The IGFA is a 60,000 square foot monument to fishing and fishing history. The IGFA has the largest fishing library in the world for those who have some fishy research to attend to. The museum also houses a very nice collection of fishing antiques including four cases of vintage reels to include:

1.) Case of Big Game Reels
2.) Case of baitcasting reels.
3.) Case of fly reels
4.) Case of spinning reels.
(Photos Above)

- The museum is located just across the parking lot from the host motel and just across the parking lot on the other side is a full blown Bass Pro Shop.

- The fishing contest will be held aboard the drift fishing party boat the "Helen S". For those of you who attended the 2009 convention you will remember the fun we all had catching great fish out on the reef. You will want to bring a 1/0 or 2/0 size reel with some sort of drag or a leather thumb drag or, if you reel does not have a drag, make sure to have a glove with good padding on the thumbs. You will also want a rod to match. You can rig your own terminal tackle or they will do it for you on the boat. The bait is free, BYOB.
