Wanted: Bronson Silver Princess 3700 parts

Post by spadej1 »

Hi all, I'm looking for a "level wind screw guard" as Bronson calls it. It's the cover for the level wind assembly and my reel is missing it. I have both jeweled caps, but could use one of those as well as one is kind of chewed up. Both parts are for this version of the reel, which I believe is an early one. Thanks for any help!

Hi James,

Another Bronson part won't fit?

Cheers,

Good point George. Actually, many other parts would fit I'm sure. In fact, I put a random levelwind guard on that I had in my parts. The jeweled caps are a little harder to match and fit. My original intent was for a correct piece as this is one of Bronson's early gold seal reels. Though not worth much today, I didn't want to put a cheaply mass-produced part on if I didn't have to.

Thanks George. I was keeping my eye on a few that popped up recently. Most had the hex end caps, but were similar vintage. I like these early Gold Seal reels, and this is one of the few models that fit my budget. I didn't win one but there are a couple other possibles coming. Thank you for your help!
