The design is based upon a mathematical ellipse formulated for each reel size. The shape provides soft round corners at the back of the reel and an eye appealing case. The corners also set space for the reel tang/foot and a perfectly sized front curve for a snug, custom fit for individual reels...no two are alike. Customer provides specified measurements to insure height, dia., etc combine for a perfect fit. CASES ARE UNLINED as the leather is English Bridle leather finished hide AND flesh side with a waxy smooth surface. The closure strap feeds through a strap guide at the back and secures over a Sam Browne stud. All work is hand sewn.

Meant to also mention, a 'bed' is added to the inside base with 'bed' portions removed and built up to accommodate knobs on the back of the reel. This insures the reel sits flat, without wobble, particularly for the likes of the Wedding Cake reel and multi knobbed/ported reels.
