So is it the acid in tomatoes (or tomatos depending on Dan Quayle) that does that? I've never heard of of using ketchup although I find vinegar works well for cleaning things. Looks AWESOME! Maybe this would work well on some of the recent acquisitions I've gotten? Just curious about this method...

It's mainly due to the vinegar/acidic content. It seems ketchup, being somewhat thicker, is a little easier to use in smaller confined areas, especially if you don't want to take the reel completely apart to do one little piece or area.
