Penn 349 master mariner drag

Post by Jv50347 »

I opened up the drag on this reel and found only 2 washers 1 fiber and 1 metal the schematic shows 6 total.Their's no way I can fit 6 in it wondering if I got something normal or if someone married different parts to make it work. Its got 2 eccentric levers.

You've got the 349HC. There should be room for 3 metal and 3 carbon fiber drag discs. That's the way Penn made almost all their reels. There's enough room. I can help you source replacements if you need them. If you've got something different than the standard issue we'll need a picture of the innards to help you out.

I soaked the main gear and pinion gear in solvent overnight and the rest fell out when I checked tonight lol.Found a place out of Wisconsin that has the fiber washers so I'll give him a call.Rest of it looked like new inside.Curious anybody around you carry any parts for a 980 power mag.I got these 2 reels and rods at an auction and wanted to fresh them up.Thanks for the reply!!!
