Fixing a broken spinning reel foot

Post by brandsxb »

I have a Niagara spinning reel with a broken foot. I don't have the part that dropped off. Can anyone weld a new part on this reel? Is there a reel repair shop that can work on it?

Any help appreciated.

I have never seen a cosmetically pleasing spinning reel foot/leg repair that would last past anything more than sitting on a shelf. Most won't even take the stress of being tightened into a reel seat. Brazing is about the only way to repair cast metals and even that doesn't marry well.
Love those Open Face Spinning Reels! (Especially ABU & ABU/Zebco)
