How did this company ever go out of business with an advertising campaign like this?
I want to call her and order stuff right now.

William.

Great area of country for fly fishing. H&I had facility near center of Utica. Famous Catherine Creek was nearby and many anglers lived in the area.

Left area 16 yr ago, but think H&I store was still open. But times have changed. Now guess what is coming to Utica?

I'd guess it was at least 20 years ago when a person was selling the trash from the H-I building in the Shotgun News paper. They were about to demolish the building and this guy had cleaned out the factory. I bought some Pflueger standup cardboard signs and a bunch of Winchester paper goods from him. I'd have loved to have seen what else was laying around on the floor of that old factory. It was probably a pickers dream.

There is at least one other version of the Y&E girl postcard put out by H-I, and I even have an 1897 version of a fishing lady illustration used by Yawman & Erbe themselves. Y&E had some great advertising illustrations.

It'd been quite awhile since I dug out my old postcards - glad this topic came up!
