Another new addition

Post by Russ »

Picked up this 3'' Hardy Triumph a few weeks back , I think its a 1923 or 4 reel with the white handles. Pretty happy with it .

Nice piece, Russ! Good to see more fly reels show up! I've not seen a closeup of that drag system before...will have to pull out my new Hardy book and have a look!

Very nice reel Ross.

John: the triumph is not a flyreel but a casting reel.
I'm sure it can also be used as a flyreel but it was not meant to.

? You're saying that reel in the pics is a casting reel? Isn't it single action? ...used below the rod?

I guess, must be used like a Pakron?...wouldn't that be more of a trolling/mooching reel?...3"?

Yes John its for casting , it is mounted under the rod and when you move the small lever on the rim in picture two it free wheels . You control the speed with your finger tip on the rim. Russ

I think it works the same way as the Hardy Silex.
