2 Shakespeare Inglis Reels

Post by Dylan Eldridge »

I picked up both these reels within the past month. I know these Inglis reels can be somewhat challenging to find, and I feel like it is probably a little bit more impressive to have both of these reels brand new in the box as shown. A couple of dandy reels :D

Thanks for posting these, Dylan. Exceptional examples. I've always liked the Inglis model Shakespeares. They always seem just different enough to be really interesting.

Thanks Mark. I thought these were definitely worth showing just because of their condition. That Royal Supereel is just a great example of a high quality fishing reel. I have always wondered what people thought of the nylon gears though.

Nice stuff! Personally Im not a fan of the nylon. I think they are quieter though. Again, nice set!

I agree with you on the nylon, not really a fan. I have always thought they wouldn't hold up as long as a metal (brass) gear would. Put too much pressure on enough decent sized fish and I could see the teeth on these gears getting worn over a period of time.

Very nice. The boxes, in this condition, are harder to find than the reels.
