The search is over

Post by Wayne B. »

In the past month or so, I have been able to garner three reels that have filled some holes in my collections that have existed for quite some time. :yay For a low end collector like myself, these are very high end items. Thanks to those who helped in my search!

Coxe 25N

Ambassadeur 2500

Coxe Invader 26

Elder has seen Low End at my place. Thus the term "How low can you go". Oh, no, that was the Limbo. Many of mine are low because they are sell offs from Elder, Benson, and Heitman and the lowest of Low from E-Bay.

Nice reels. Nothing wrong with low end - all reels are good. I have boxes of low end- love each and every one. Anyway , as the wife says when she walks into my man shack " whatcha' buy this junk for? " Spoken by someone who thinks ' keeping up with the kardassians' & 'project runway' is entertainment.but what do I know? P.s. I will deny writing this if confronted.

The Coxe Invader is really nice. They all are! Must be your Mother's Day gift to yourself.

I have owned, at one time or another, owned each of those reels. No the one that RAM now owns,
but like them. Regrettably, I sold them for peanuts. Somebody said to me that's how you learn.
Glad finally got you wishes.

I particularly like the Amb. 2500 - that whole series are very special to me. Well done for filling some gaps in your collections.

FYI, there's a very nice 2500 on ebay right now. They don't come around often.

When the "search is over" you get a new hobby. If that one is more expensive than reel collecting the wife gets a new hubby. Keep collecting. Cheaper than alimony.

All the crying and weeping (LOL) finally got to me so I sold Wayne the 25N. I had 11 of them so it was not that much of a sacrifice but it is always a pleasure to make a fellow collector really happy!

Speaking of the #25N, we need photos of one for the Bronson site. Not to mention photos of numerous other Coxe fresh and salt water models. HELP!!!

I thought about sending some pic's of the Coxe's I've got but I knew I wouldn't have anything King Wayne doesn't have. I used to occassionally find something Ellis needed a picture of. He usually made me re-take the pictures and try again if he didn't like the ones I sent.

Go to the website. You'll see a lot of Coxe fresh and salt water models that are in need of photos. I'm probably not quite as picky as Robert was. He used to make me re-do mine, too. Thanks in advance, to anybody that can help.
