Check out this weird rod we found (and '40 Shakespeare 1920)

Post by WeeKilt »

This 1940 Shakespeare 1920 Wondereel has been hanging on the wall of the boathouse for as long as I can remember. Joining ORCA was what prompted me to "fish" it down for a closer look this afternoon. I've never seen an all steel rod like that. No markings that I could find. Very unique...

If you remove the reel you might see the rod is marked on the reel seat. Actually quite common and made by several different manufacturers. The advent of fiberglass rods after the war pretty much put an end to the use of these metal rods. Fish it. You might be surprised.

Thanks Mark! Thought I'd found something rare! :| Oh well, it still looks cool on the boat house wall.

Tight lines,
Keith
