A plywood goose weathervane
A plywood goose weathervane
I saw a photo of this plywood goose weathervane:
My first step was to freehand draw and cut out a cardboard template:

I then bought a sheet of 1/4 plywood and cut out two goose sides with a jig saw:
Using 2"x4" spacers I wet the plywood and screwed the two sides together.
The water is in the wheelbarrow due to hosing down the plywood to make it easier to bend.

Now that's a cool looking weather vane if I ever did see one. Have fun with your project.

Thanks, Bob. Unfortunately, retirement isn't on the radar just yet with three kids still in grad school. However, in honor of my approaching 60th birthday I have cut down to 60 hours a week in the office. These little projects are great stress relief.RAM wrote:Truly neat weathervane Mike! Maybe you should name it the "spruce goose" unless Howard already has a copyright on the name.

It looks like it is a pretty good Canada goose attractor in pic # 10.
Nice job!
