Oscar Kovalovsky made this reel. There is a complete description of it on pages 68-69 in the book, "A Conversation with Oscar Kovalovsky".

in-freaking-credible! So glad to see these reels end up in good hands and not spread to the winds! Great job, John! can't wait to fondle them! Any idea what the admission charge will be to pay for this venture?? :D

JT, the rim control is a wide spool 9/0. The one that looks like micarta is actually plexiglass and brass. Dr. Baits, considering what I had to pay to get these reels, I am either going to have to start charging admission to my tackle room or get a job! No way I'm going back to work. No way.

Merry Christmas to you! Congratulations John those are some killer reels. I know Oscar was very proud of the lever drag fly reel, I’m glad it landed in the hands of someone who will really appreciate it.

Thanks, all! Here is a nice picture Larry Lauve took of the fly reels over the weekend. They are simply exquisite.
