That is a tough one! How about taking a short video or soundtrack so we can hear the double-click?

Tough decision wasn't it Deke? The reel or a vacation home in Hawaii.

Bad Bob. PS: Dang that's a great reel!

You have some fantastic keepers there yourself, Ron! Sorry to jump in but it seemed to fit well with the theme of your post! :D Fly reels are, indeed, fun!

Very Nice Reels posted - Just over the top and hard to match those

I just can't help myself and have to take mine for a spin a few times each season. Some might not see it like I do but life is short. Ben Hur, Dame Stoddard Kendall, JVH

Now that's a nice display of great classic fly reels. Is the Ben Hur unmarked? She's a beauty.

Ron,

The Ben Hur is only marked on the back plate with the maker (WmH Talbot - Nevada, MO USA and the serial # on the inner side plate rim at the reel foot. No A&F logo. Serial # is the lowest I've seen on a Ben Hur (at least on those that you can find info. about on line).

Nice reels!

It's threads like this that make me want to start collecting fly reels, even though I generally focus on saltwater/big game reels. Maybe that's why I picked up a Pflueger Hawkeye last week.

My newest fly reel acquisition is an upgrade to an unmarked version I had - for yet another unknown maker.

Love that pebble finish!

Great reel, Jim! Is that all turn from one piece of brass rather Than soldered together? Probably two halves soldered together?

Thanks John - yeah, the reel is 2 sections soldered together - hopefully this angle allows you to see the seam:

Man this is the stuff I like !!!!!

Wish I could say my best JVH was a fly reel but it isn't. Here's a pic of a very early tiny multiplier with the clover leaf logo and elongated foot. Don't have a pic of the back side handy but has a knurled knob that rotates to engage the clicker.
