Since my name seems to come up whenever someone trys to repair, fix, replace or make things work by non conventional means, I thought a thread with pictures about these endevors would be in order. My two entries are of a Shakespeare Style "B" where someone replaced the double screw levelwind with a single crossed shaft to make it work. (and it does because I have fished with it)
The second is something I will call an "Elder Clicker" where someone took a spring and a small gear and put it on a South Bend St. Joe.
Now if we can get Andy Foster to post some of his home-made, barnyard repaired reels, (like the one made from a tractor generator) you will be amazed at what someone can come up with.
Lets see what others have gathered up over the years.
Enjoy, Harvey
EDIT:
Maybe if we can gather enough matrial, Richard could make up an artical for the "Reel News". We always need some enterainment!
What I will call "Harvey's Hangups" ---
