The Frankfort Kentucky Fishing Reels - New Exhibit!

Post by bettybarr »

The Exhibit on the Frankfort Reels is now open at The Capital City Museum in Frankfort!! We had 300 visitors in the first hour and a half that it was open Thursday night. I will be hosting a regional meeting there in January. Please come see it. Don and I worked hard to get it open. John Downs, curator, did a great job. We plan a number of additions over the next year that it will be open. A cell phone tour, seminars and videos are in the works.

That's a very nice exhibit. This should allow the people that view it to understand the craftsmanship that went into making these reel. I wish I were there.

I just saw this. Looks great.
Such a fantastic history that so few know about.
Congrats Betty, Don, Doug, and all involved for a job well done.
My favorite corner of reel history for sure.

Looks like a great exhibit, Betty and Don. Congratulations to you both, and a big hat tip to Don, too. Great to see Kentucky reels getting their due where they "grew up."

Looks like a lot of hard work and a great result Betty. How about some more pictures for us at the far end of the world?
